What tasks do I need to do to ensure hive health?
July in the hive
The queen is in the middle of her winter cluster of workers. Little activity will be observable except on a warmer day (7-10deg C) when the workers will take cleansing flights.
There are no drones in the hive but there will be some worker brood starting.
The bees may consume up to 10kg of stored honey this month.

- Ensure hive entrance is clear from snow or vegetation to allow ventilation.
- Remove varroa strip treatment applied in May
